Is there a descriptive file on the rear cylinder oil port upgrade?
-
I'm afraid I'm not at all familiar with this upgrade you're mentioning. What was it supposed to accomplish? Do you remember where you read about it?
-
I believe it is a later factory mod to motors after 1700
-
I got your message in my email but, don't see it here. The board is doing very odd things these days.
I'm not aware of any changes that were done on the 1700 and subsequent bikes. I'd sure like to know what this is if true. I own 1940 and 1989 and I don't know exactly what has been done to them.

Isnt this the port that was early in the game enlarged to give the tranny more lube?
-
You've got me there. Is this one of those theories someone came up with or did it become E-H canon and now I must atone for the missed updates?
-
Sorry. I should have kept track of where I read it.

This was supposedly to divert extra oil to the transmission? I'm still curious. I do have to say that a moderately ridden bike would probably never have an issue or we'd have heard more about it.

So it's my understanding that the orificing for flow is done at the ends of the circuits which accomplishes several things, primarily limiting the number of passages and providing for more equal head at each orifice. So any point of use modification would be the orifice itself, not the passage correct? Unless of course the passage only fed one point.

I found it on the Super X build sheet.
