Is there a trick to removing the coil pack and spark plug on the rear cylinder? It’s a very tight fit with the wire harness and frame.

Don’t want to leave you hanging. Maybe someone will have a suggestion but I don’t think there is any magic solution. It’s cramped fingers and maybe a universal joint and extension.

That’s what I thought but when I try to remove the spark plug boot there’s not enough clearance for the boot to lift off the spark plug.

take a long screw driver and pry up with it gently right at the very bottom edge of the boot. While at the same time sticking your thumb thru what space you have onto the very top of the coil, pressing down hard. If you coordinate your motion at the same time up wards, it should pop loose. If not there maybe another issue?

Well, I'm real late to the party here but will post an answer in case it helps someone else. On my bike I loosen the front tank mounts, don't remove just loosen, then throw a towel over the front of the tank to protect it from the upper triple tree, remove the seat and rear tank mount and pivot the tank upward enough to slide a piece of 2x4 or anything that is about 1 1/2" high between the tank and frame. This will give you enough clearance to make this easier. Please be careful to not jam the tank into the upper fork clamp/triple tree thingie. (that is a technical term)

need to kick myself for not mentioning tank obstruction.
I personally just remove it all together. I've had my tank and so many off thru the years, its just not that tuff to do anymore for me. Unless its a leaker, and full of fuel. Then it sux...
Very handy when you can just pump out the fuel thru the superXtune...

Just did mine...had to remove tank because I had to remove the zip ties holding the wire bundle that was interfering with the coil removal.
Turned the coil 90 degrees to clear the frame from the attach plug.
