Does any one know about this motor?
I was told it was a factory prototype.
Any information would be great.
Thanks

My information is second or third hand from over on Bookface. Someone said it was one of Bobby Baldwin’s projects that he never finished. From all the hand fabricated and welded parts on the manifold, that makes sense.
My opinion: It probably wouldn’t have been much fun. The drive hangs out a bunch and would require moving the shifter and floorboard out to even reach them. Our fuel injection doesn’t use any kind of manifold pressure sensor or mass air flow sensor so getting it mapped would be a nightmare. Plus the jury is still out on the root cause of cracked Super X heads so I probably wouldn’t want to put that kind of stress on them.
It would be a cool piece of history to have though. Buy it and tell us more about it. ;D

I did buy it and have it in my shop.
What would you like to know?
I have a bike torn down (mostly a donor bike) might just make a roller/display piece out of it with the Baldwin motor.
Thank you for the information!!

Congratulations on that. If the heads aren’t cracked they’re worth far more than you paid for the whole thing.
Where is the air intake on the supercharger?
-
The intake is right under the top of the drive. Facing the front of the motor.

I was dealing with Bobby with parts when he bought that.
The guy that made that blower, was the same guy that built Jesse James blowers.
I don't know if bobby ever got it to run, but was hinting that this guy was going to build him several more blowers.... but it never happened.
The pictures I saw of it, way back when, it was near as refined (finished looking) as at this point. He was a bit odd about it, as he refused to say who's bike he built it for.

If I could be so nosey....
What kind of money did that go for?
very nice piece of X history for sure.
-
I got it for 800$ plus 200$ to ship it.

Very nice price for a very cool piece of X history....
Wish it were mine...
