Hi there!
My Deadwood smokes really much from the exaust pipes when I gas after a gas release, I think this happens since my bike was new (crate new) until now with 9k miles on.
I tought it was a problem of engine oil temperature, but today after several miles of pretty smooth running at 50-70 miles per hour, I could see a quite large puff of smoke, in this case the oil temp should be ok.
I don?t know if this depends on ECM tuning. For about ten years ago I bought a SXtune, V 2.4 (I heard it?s not for sale today any more) and I used it to test my bike.
I see I can ?monitor and make adjustments to some of the bike?s parameters? but as well it?s ?NOT possible to change or adjust the bike?s tune?.
I ask if this smoke can depend on tuning or if I have to consider more complicate issues, like a damaged piston ring; and in the first case if my tool is able to adjust parameters in order to avoid (or lower) the risk of overheating and have my engine running as smooth as possible.
Thanks you all!

Hi Luca,
While a number of us were riding together last year on a hot day, smoking was noticed on a couple of our bikes. Do you still have your crankcase fumes going into the air cleaner? That is how I prefer to have them but, it also guarantees that the crankcase mist will be drawn through the engine and burned.
My guess is that when it's hot and you're cruising steadily down the road, the crankcase ends up with a lot of what looks like smoke but, smells like hot, agitated oil. Then if this oil mist gets sucked into the engine, it would almost guarantee that you'd get a cloud.
Does your bike do it all the time or only when pulling away from a stop, when the engine is hot? The amount of smoke you're getting might be normal.

Hi!
The crankcase breather has been rerouted and it's no longer going to the air cleaner.
Smoke is not coming so much when pulling away from a stop rather when I release the throttle while cruising and then gas again after a handfull of seconds, then the cloud of smoke is large enough to hide a bike behind for some seconds, so I guess it's too much.
