Title: Tire size
Post by: RRSTL3 on May 28, 2024, 01:10:32 PM
The tire size printed on the sidewall of the original tire is ?MU90B16?. I have been to several shops in the area, and each says that size isn?t available any longer.  Is there an equivalent metric size?

MU = 140. Plenty of MU80 and 140/80 tires out there. 2coolwheels and others have managed to install 150s as well, though I thought Jumper said they might rub on the belt guard or something.

Thanks for all of the advise. I followed Bruce?s lead and went with MU85 Dunlop American Elite. Looks great!

When I got 525, the guard was rubbing at 1500 miles. We purchased 3 more bikes thru the next few years. They all rubbed. Best I can figure, is that the plastic/vinyl cured, and moved.
I don't know where any of them are (I may still have them... just don't know where). But I can attest, I have rolled a couple of big rocks around my rear sprocket. One was so big it cracked my sprocket.
You know how it is here in the flat lands..... Paving still hasn't been invented.
