Title: Registry
Post by: 2CoolWheels on July 21, 2012, 01:50:07 PM
I recently purchase my second X. I tried to register it, but the site won't let me. Does the previous owner have to "un-register" the bike before I can register it?

I knew you would. I'm sure this isn't the first time for this sort of owner change.

Same here. I'm the original owner of 1525. My name is misspelled in the registry and a photo needs uploading.

As of two weeks ago, I also own 1989. No clue who had it registered before but, the info was wrong. The bike was in Nebraska since 2002, not Washington.

Does this forum username give me access to the registry entry?

Thanks for notifying us of the registry updates questions.

Once you are registered, the site allows you to go back in and make changes. Since the site has been modified over the years, sometimes the login information needs to be reset.

We did create a new password for your registrations and emailed you the information to login.  You may then go to the registry and make any changes you like, including updating your name, password, email address, photo, etc... Feel free to email us directly from the EH website if you prefer, or comment here in the forum works too and Bruce will keep us posted.

Onward & Upward.

:o Wait...REALLY?

Thank you for the bikes. I bought your book. I still can't believe all that your team pulled off. I'm a design & development engineer and what your team pulled together in such a short time still blows my mind 12 years later.

Back to the topic: is it normal to not be able to update the VIN field? 1989 is wrong...a Jennie.

Is:
5EH1HCX10YB0001989

Should be:
5EH1HCXTXYB0001989

Just in case somebody is actually tracking and counting VINs.

Nope. I looked at the HTML. That field is marked READONLY. I can click into it but, can't type.

I'll do the 'contact' thing. Thanks.

Nope, I couldn't do it myself. It took Admin intervention to fix it.
