Title: engine guards
Post by: joecal on July 30, 2013, 05:20:08 PM
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if there are engine guards/crash bars othe than the stock ones that will fit our bikes? I really don't feel like spending an exorbitant amount on stock ones.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
A full sized Harley touring bike crash bar can be made to fit. It's what I have on 901. You will have to make a bracket for the top. I used a 6" piece of 3/4" square tubing, and drilled a hole in the center of it. The, you will have to use a couple of spacers at the bottom two bolts.
Here's the type of bar I used:

Here's a short video of the completed installation. (Sorry for the poor quality of the video):

Thanks Mike,
That's some good information, the bar looks good on your bike, and the price sounds good too!
Take Care,
Joe
