Title: POLARIS INDIAN: When is an Indian an Indian?
Post by: XHanlon on September 13, 2013, 12:40:49 PM
Read the commentary by the founder of Excelsior-Henderson about the revived Indian motorcycle by Polaris.  He was at the Indian unveiling at Sturgis in 1993 and now also in 2013.  So, after 20 years and $400 million of investment, has anything changed? Perhaps, significantly.

Navigate to the Excelsior-Henderson website and click on the notebook Updates on the Home Page, or simply click the link below...

Nice article and written by someone who knows what he's talking about. It's not a bad looking bike, or should I say Dan looks good on it. I wish them well, you would think Victory motorcylces would be enough for them.

Yes, to everything.
I was impressed with Polaris' determination and staying power when they launched Victory. As I recall things didn't go according to plan for them in the early days and they kept delivering the same message ~ they were here to stay~.
Glad that the Indian marquee is finally in the hands of someone who can, and will give it its due.

Great article, Dan. It looks like the Indian brand is in good hands. I recall reading somewhere that when EH filed for bankruptcy, you had mentioned that you hoped Polaris would buy it. If they had, just imagine what the current EH line up might be like (especially after the great job your team did reviving the brand).
