Beautiful 18 degree f day outside so I throw on the snowmobile suite but the X wasn’t having any of that. I have a detached garage and apparently this is a bit much for the ol girl. Next time I’ll run a heater in conjunction with the battery tender. Any cold weather starting tips are appreciated.
Man I love this bike! Don’t think I can go a month without riding.

My first winter was lucky..... Gotta ride at least once a week all winter.. Even if only a short bit... Those were the days..
Anyways.... Yeah that 20/50 gets pretty thick below 40. Either get the machine in the sun for a couple of hours or get some heat on her. Sounds like you've got the battery issue squared away.... Gonna need all the crank you can get.... Especially at 18
11 here last nite.... 9 on tuesday nite....

When you DO get it started.... Don't hammer it too hard as I did that back when I had S/N 827's engine in S/N 1375's frame... 19-20 degrees and I was hammering up I-66 towards Baltimore (70-80 MPH) when I developed an hell of an oil leak... Seemed that the low cylinder base gasket "shrank?" some due to the different temps between the base and the rest of the engine... Loaded back home and let it set, thinking I had broken it... Whell.. A few days later, I fired it up and the leak had slowed down... After a few weeks of heat and cool cycling, it cured itself! Funny things these X's...
