This past Sunday, I went to Roselle to meet Ed T at his place. Ed's friend, Ken, and wife joined us. While the ladies looked at the garden and fed treats to the dogs next door, Ed, Ken and I swapped stories in the garage over a couple of beers while looking at Voodoo Child.
Ed and his wife had very graciously offered lunch, so we ate good BBQ sandwiches, fresh sweet corn, fresh veggies from the garden and home made cole slaw. Yum!
After chowing down, we bid farewell and many thanks to Ed's wife, saddled up two Xs and a Road King and set off for The Broken Oar. We had a nice 30 minute ride through on back roads Ed and Ken ride often.
Approaching the Oar, it's apparent this is the place to be. The place is jumping! There have to be 5-6 people just directing traffic in the parking lot.
After parking, we run into Biker Don Ho (I forget what number he owns, but it's a G/O) and chat for a bit. We get a beer and walk over to the boat launch and check out the band. The name of the band is Diver Down, a Van Halen tribute band, and they're rockin the joint.
We hang at the river for a while, then head out to the lot to check out bikes and cars. There was some really nice steel sitting in the lot. Lots of custom Harleys, a few sportbikes, cruisers from Europe and Japan, and some good old Detroit muscle were on display. A couple of beers, the end of the band's last set and we were ready to head out. I split for home partway back to Ed's house and got chased into Joliet by a little passing shower.
Good food, good band, good fellowship and I burned 3/4 of a tank of gas. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

Sounds like I missed a good time. Next time I'll have my bike towed to wherever you guys are meeting and pretend I beat you there.
