Title: Tire alignment
Post by: johnc1969 on October 21, 2014, 01:40:41 PM
Just changed the rear tire and brakes on my X and know that there is a tire alignment tool that's a rod with a ring on one end to align the tire.  Without asking to borrow one, is there another tool  or trick that someone knows about?  Anyone with that tool near Chicago so I can borrow?

Take a clothes hanger apart. Leave the hook It.
straighten the rest of it the best you can.

I found a tiny "O" ring with the hole about the same size as the gauge of the clothes hanger. Used to use a rubberband.

Hook the the hinge point bolt and center O ring or rubber band on the axle bolt. Axle bolt should have a center point on both ends.

Measure both sides. If you have to move O ring or rubber band from side to side... adjust tension accordingly.

Still lost?  Ask again.....

Good idea Bruce! I've been struggling through it with a tape measure. This is much better.
