Anybody with shotguns run into the lower one cracking near the mounting bracket? Mine has cracked almost all the way around the circumference of the pipe. (I'm currently holding it together with zip ties and hose clamps!)

How do the motor mounts look Mike?
-
Long story, but bottom line is they have all recently been replaced, front and rear, and they have the updated nuts from Jamie and Marty. The bike runs smooth now.
-
How's the mounting bracket itself?
-
Mounting bracket is fine.
Anybody know where I can get a new set of shotguns? If not, I'll take it to an exhaust specialist and have a new one made up.

Hmmm... Ditch the Shot Guns!!! The Guy riding beside you on the Right will thank you!!! Heheheh..

Mike,
Believe it or not.... But i have a pair of long shot guns you can have, ..... Havent looked at them for a while.....
But in good straight shape.....
Chrome is junk.... But no dinges.... Have them rechromed or powder coated.
Ill be in the shop today and check them over....
You pay for shipping....... They are yours

Wow, thanks Bruce!!!

The bottom one always cracks because of vibration and most important is that it is the longest one and leverage has alot to do with it ...it does extend longer than the rear pipe ...I had a set and it did the same thing ...so I tossed 'em ...used the shorter one as a guide to make short pipes sets

Might be worth it to weld a piece of square stock to the back of last 3 feet of Bruce's old pipes before rechroming them. Maybe you'll get a little more life out of them.
Reminds me that back in the day I made up some looooong pipes that stuck out about a foot beyond my rear fender. They dragged going into gas stations and my local wrench hated them, kept walking into them on the lift, but damn they were cool.

Good idea Frank, I'll look into it.
