Title: E-H Road Club Is Headed West!
Post by: lockrolling on January 15, 2015, 02:56:58 PM
THE EVENT WE'VE ALL BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TOO!
Much the same way they drove a spike in the ground in  ‎Promontory, Utah commemorating East Meeting West! We're bringing em together in Laughlin, Nevada! April 22-26 during the Laughlin River Run. Hotel accommodations are soon to follow as we are trying to block off a group of rooms at one motel. But lets make sure to circle the calenders in red, and let us know who and how many are headed to this major event!!!

I'll be there. Not sure if my wife will be able to come to this one. She coaches a club volleyball team, and if they continue to win, their regional tournament will be that day. I have a room reserved from the block we have set up. It's heating up fast here. Temps in April should easily be 80-90 each day. Time to get a tan!

There is a lot to see and do around Kingman/Laughlin area .Laughlin is less than hour's ride.Vegas, Boulder Dam is alittle over an hour's ride. Old gold mining town Oatman is about 50 min's away. Grand Canyon overlook is about an hours ride, you can also see the Grand Wash Cliff's (sort of a west wall of Grand Canyon) and also a HUGE Joshua tree forest on this trip. Lake Havasu (real London Bridge)  an hours ride away. Hualapai (Wall-o-pie) mountain park is 20 min's away (nice short ride).Route 66 east (how long you want to ride?). All of this is based from Kingman. Arizona has no helmet law, and strong 2nd amendment rights ( lot's of open carry), not so in Nevada. I look forward to meeting any X'rs.  Mike

Mike, when are you planning on arriving? I'll be up there about noon on Friday. Staying at the hotel in Kingman? I'm there. In a few weeks we should start gathering a phone list from those going. I guess there were a few X guys here in Scottsdale this weekend from out of town. Didn't see any of them, but I was talking to a vendor who was staying at their same hotel. Said there were a couple of them there.

Sad side note...the Special Olympic charity ride we did...the Scottsdale PD were supposed to have all the lights green and have officers at ever intersection. The fixed the lights but didn't have men at all locations. In idiot driver became impatient and didn't want to wait for us to go through. She shot through the intersection hitting and killing a man and his wife riding. Huge scandal here because Scottsdale PD is trying to put the blame on the riders saying they ran a red light. There weren't any red lights. That's the point of an escorted ride! I'm so furious right now because of the political cover up and so sad for the family who lost both mom and dad.

I won't be in town until about noon on Friday. Can't get off work I'm going  straight to the hotel and then will head to Laughlin if everyone has already left. I imagine you all aren't exactly early birds, so hopefully I can catch you before you head out.
