Heritage Intro...the rear view mirror...
For those who appreciate the opportunity to look back, this Heritage section will be of great interest and provides some time to ponder about many things, and sometimes simply, the what if...? What if I was there back in time, what was it really like? Maybe I was one of those back in time, how is the memory today? Is history and heritage important? Some run from it and some embrace it. We embrace it with great respect and honor for those times that proceeded us today.
There is a unique relationship between the past and future..some say there is no future if you live in the past, and yet also, there is no future if you ignore the past...so maybe the balance is somewhere in between. Like on a motorcycle, where its important to have the rear view mirror to glance back, but a key focus is on the road ahead...
History is not always recorded or remembered correctly, for a variety of reasons which mostly center on we are all human. Even at the time of recording, there will be inconsistences. Great world wide historical documents are still being debated today for accuracies, so be it with our own. Have you ever watched an event with a group of people, and several different stories emerge yet all witnessed the same event? Why is it important to mention this? Well, just to keep things in perspective, no more and no less. Appreciate it for what it represents.
Please take some time to browse around this section of the site, and click on the navigation arrows to your left. There is so much history that began back in 1876 and continues forward, there is no one site that will ever capture it all, nor should it. This section of the site is not complete and will continue to build over time as there are private collections of information that can be made available. If you have items of interest you either would like to share or request something to be shared, please let us know.
As each day passes, it is entering history--sometimes to be recorded and sometimes not wishing so--but in either event it truly now is history...and the next day would be the future...and turn into the past in 24 hours. Life eXperienced in real time...it get's no better than this.
Even though the past is important, so is the future... Alexander Graham Bell has an excellent quote; "When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us." So, let us now take a look back through the rear-view mirror...
