Inline Fuel Filter - Installation
So I was looking for a Fuel Filter for my Super-X
And I came across this filter at my local auto center.
It fits really nice hidden away under the tank ! * See Pics *

https://www.amazon.com/Prime-Line-7-02357-1-Replacement-25-050-01/dp/B002EPDIJO/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1486081662&sr=1-1&keywords=7-02357-1

They gave me a few inches of 1/4 ID gas line for free.
I added 1.5-2.5 inches of new gas line on to the fuel
pump side and re-routed the ORG gas line around the
throttle cables and the in-line filter fit perfect!

Some day you are going to have to show me how get pictures on here....... Every time I try this site says my pictures are too big.    .... What ever that means

I'm not familiar with that filter... I'm guessing it is made for to withstand fuel pressure?
Slick set up...

Nicely done, Erik. Bruce is right, however. Be absolutely sure whatever filter you choose can withstand up to 60psi of fuel pressure. Some of these in-line filters are designed for much lower pressures.

I'd agree, that looks like your basic lawn mower filter.   Technically the filter has to be installed before the regulator such that fuel pressure is maintained.  As coarse as the sintered metal filter is as you have it should not plug.

Erik I've been thinking about it all day... Trying to figure a way not to burst your bubble on your nice work....
I'm sorry, but you need to take that filter off unless it says it's made for fuel injection.....
I'm afraid for safety reasons that plastic filter may let go in a real bad place and either burn your X to the ground or soak your pant leg....
Neither of which I'd be comfortable with......

Well I found in the factory service manual the REAL Pressure Rating is: 45-51 psi
Not : 60 psi ...

Found ...
http://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=154537

Anyone find a filter yet that would work ?

Looking for an in line fuel filter ..
Inlet:   1/4
Outlet:   1/4
With a Small Length Size Of 2-4"
With a HIGH Burst Rate 40psi or 50psi or 60psi +
With a 40-60 micron Filtration.

I don't know the filter some of the guys are using....
I only know of one owner personally using a filter... But there are several owners that do.
I believe it was brother John who Rigged up the red hot chili pepper with a quick fittings.
And Id guess each of these owners have set it up with there own preference of brand.
Hopefully we can get one of them to respond here.

I mentioned 60 psi because I've seen the pressure spike as high as 55 psi. Better to err on the high side.
I have also seen some aluminum fuel filters with NP type fittings that other Xers have used that can easily withstand the pressures involved. I'll try to find that article.
