Another Wisconsin Dells event is now history.
I wish to thank everyone who got this off the ground.... as a past organizer of other entities, I very well realize the work it takes to get it done. Keith, Tami, Mike Seastrom, Sandi Seastrom, Brian Franson, Dennis Wilkingson, and Mike Locklear.
Fine job folks... this even is turning into my favorite (yeah, even if I get a little physically beat up). And I cannot wait for the next one.
Great to see you all... new folks, and of course the oldie goldies...

Let?s ignite the fire again!
My friends, this is Mike Seastrom with a message I want to get out to as many folks as possible, so you may see this information cross posted in multiple locations.
I have had many conversations over the last few years about why the value of the Excelsior Henderson Super X bike is not going up in price. Much like the weather everyone talks about but no one really does anything about it. That is not to say we don?t have incredibly dedicated owners and some excellent ambassadors that are out there preaching the gospel, and for that I thank you all. To that end, myself and several others are setting forth to promote the Excelsior Henderson 1999-2000 brand at several motorcycle events over the next year. The first being the Born Free motorcycle show Texas. Due to limited budget and truthfully a limited inventory of products that we can sell it makes this an interesting marketing challenge. We intentionally chose Born Free because of its size, location and the people that will be involved. We are starting with this smaller event in an area that is not as familiar with the X to test the waters and hopefully determine how to appeal to both the traditional and a new generation of true motorcycle enthusiasts.
At this point I am sure you are thinking this guys is an idiot or maybe, hopefully, how as a fellow EH enthusiast can I help? To be honest we have lots of ideas we are going to try. If
you have some thoughts you would like to share please contact me or even better jot them down, my memory ain?t what it used to be. Specific things we are looking for are as follows
1. One of the original enclosed trailers. Yes I can sticker up a new one and make it look the same, but we would like to have an original. If you have one in good conditio that you would sell at a reasonable price please let us know.
2. One of the original small tents
3. Donations or sponsorship to help offset the show entry fees and travel.
4. Help manning the both at future shows. We will have a proposed list in the near future.
5. Nice local bikes to display at each show.
6. EH items of interest that we can borrow for display purposes
7. Attendance of current owners wearing all your Classic EH gear.
8. Ride those beautiful Big X motorcycles to an event near you and proudly display them where people attending can view them on the road and in the parking lots.
There will be more to come. Wish us luck as we head into the wind. Ride ?em don?t hide ?em.

Technical Resource Discussion / Re: belt drive
« Last post by larryb8415 on August 10, 2025, 12:38:17 PM »
Well, as it turns out, my castle nut is the larger of the two.  But it luckily my local car parts store had the socket I needed.

So to sum up, Bike 572 has a 1 5/16 Castle Nut and a 1 1/4 bolt head.

And tightening the belt fixed the chirp.

Thanks for the help.

Loosening the castle nut will loosen the complete axle to adjust belt.
Factory, that axle bolt comes in from the muffler side, which in turn makes the mechanic pull the upper muffler, to get that axle bolt out. So remember when you reinstall that axle, put it back in opposite of OEM.... from the left side.
I'll wander out to the shop, and see what that wrench size is....

Castle nut is 1 1/4". And believe it... the axle bolt head is different 1 5/16". I knew they were different, just couldn't remember sizes.
Good luck...

I'm sure it's very loose, I'm going to tighten it a bit.  (I've been living with it since my post.) In any case, here are my next questions: 1:when loosening the rear axel, do I only open on the castle nut?  2 before I go buy a whole set... is the castle nut 1 5/16 or 1 3/8?
