Spoke nipples

Last night when I was performing my post ride-home-from-work once over I noticed a loose spoke on the front wheel.  It appears the nipple is broken but the spoke appears ok.  Where can I get new spoke nipples; are they a universal part?  Should I just replace the defective piece or skip straight to the part where I re-lace the wheel?

no need to relace Justin...
It happens.... It did to one of ours years ago...
I called Marty, and she had handfuls of spokes and nipples...
She at that point said free of charge, pay for shipping. I was uncomfortable with that, and orderd a dozen of both at a 1$.....
Once you get that nipple on, just retune the wheel.... should be good to go...

You also might want to check the hole where the nipple comes thru ...on a couple of bikes I got in ...the hole was corroded and bigger than the nipple ...could not tighten it up ....so I trashed the wheel... did not how to repair it ....once a couple of the holes  elongate from being loose, the wheel is gone ...I always play the harp around the spokes  with my fingers  ...just an FYI

Its good to know Atlantic has parts.  However, to answer the first question, with aluminum rims such as the EH has, it is a requirement to use stainless spokes and nipples due to galvanic corrosion issues.  So while a regular nipple would fit it should not be considered universal.  Is the thread form on our spokes a metric or other form?

To tell you the truth Rich I don't know

Being they are Behr built I'd suspect metric...

The Norton I restored a few years ago had 2 different threads on the spokes....   Which was a surprise.

On a side note.....   Some excellent news in the X community. A huge lot of parts was purchased recently, which should keep us in parts for many many years....
