Wow, Mike, that is a nice looking tool, even without the mods. I didn't know they made those to attach to a socket wrench like that. Pat yourself on the back for the grinding job. Even if you had a lathe, nothing would have cut those allen wrench stubs anyway--way too hard. They needed to be ground and that's what you did.

So did the tool barely do the job or was it easy once you made everything and got it hooked on there? I'm trying to figure out how hard those compensators were torqued on at the factory. Just about everything on these bikes seems to have been torqued to death and have that red thread locker from hell on it.

they're not that bad torque wise.... just stuff a rag in the gears... it'll come loose easy enough....

NICE JOB Mike!! I like that... how much you got tied up in that rig?

The compensator came loose pretty easily, very little flex from the tool which I was pleased to see. I had to reinsert the rag, it was working it's way all the way through! I doubled it up better the second time around to keep it thick. I'm only into the tool the $45 I spent on eBay. The allen was from a set I already had, probably worth a couple of bucks, and I had to buy a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter for $6 since my only breaker bar is 1/2" drive. Greg, you're welcome to borrow it when you go to pull your transmission.
