Modernized Henderson Deluxe
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:52:48 AM »
Before I retired (and had money to spend) I went to alot of antique motorcycle and car auctions.
One bike I always wanted to aquire but never could was a later model Henderson Deluxe.
Now if Dan wants to start up again and build a modern water cooled shaft drive Henderson Deluxe
I will be glad to help in the design and fabrication of such a cridder.  Was thinking that something like the aluminium block 2 or 2.2 liter Lotus engine would be great to start with.  A wide Henderson style front end with a 160 X18 front tire and dual disc brakes on a clean looking mag wheel for handling and a 250 X 17 rear tire for traction of the 175+ HP from the engine.  I believe we could make it look good and hadle very well. It would be much more manageable than the V-8 bikes and still have loads of but hauling power.  Just a thought! GRIZZ

Neat idea. I remember back on my first X tour of duty, X Man out in Cali set up a Dodge Neon in a stretched X frame. Bike looked cool but that was about the time I sold my X so I didn't keep up with him or the bike.

Franknsr,
You are referring to Bobby Baldwin's "Baldwin Autocycle". If you check out the EH Facebook page, you'll see some recently posted pictures of it. Very cool bike, I have yet to ride down to have a look at it in person, but will soon. I'll post pictures when I do.
