1999 Super X Serial Number 743I purchased this bike from the original owner with the intentions of customizing the paint and doing engine upgrades (I already have a stock model X1024). After one long ride (about 600 miles) the bike was experiencing a loss in oil pressure (idiot light coming on at idle). Investigation into the problem revealed that the oil pump was scored by debris from the transmission left in the engine after it was rebuilt (had apparently blown up at some point before I purchased it). This led to the transmission bushings being starved for oil and freezing to the shafts. The engine was completely disassembled to ensure that there was no other damage caused by the low oil pressure during the trip. The only damage observed was in the transmission, which was replaced. The lower end, cylinders, and cams appeared fine. The transmission was replaced with NOS parts and will require rebushing. I am selling because I simply do not have the space or time to reassemble the bike. This bike is "complete" and has several upgrades including the East Coast Oil Cooler, the Atlantic EH upgraded intake system, the SuperX Tune software, the relocated front turn signal stalks, new mufflers (in the box... old ones went to another bike), and newer tires (one road trip of use). The bike does require reassembly or you can have the engine work done to increase performance while its out of the bike. The sheet metal was taken down to bare metal for custom painting and can be delivered in primer or left bare (your choice). I will not part the bike out, so don't ask! If you want pictures of any part of the bike, let me know and I will send them. All of the parts will be bagged and tagged. The rolling chassis has the hand controls still mounted and the wiring harnesses are still on the bike (except for the main harness which needs to be remounted). The bike has a clean title with no accidents, no dents or sheet metal and no damage to instruments, seats, lights, etc. For questions, contact Bill Brownlowe at profwhb@gmail.com.
