hot = no start
« on: April 13, 2014, 03:57:13 PM »
Took a nice little trip down to St. Louis this weekend and the X performed great except....
Ended up having to start and stop the engine a handful of times while the engine was hot and a couple times I pushed the starter and nothing happened. Had a similar problem on a road trip last summer and cleaned contacts on the starter relay and solenoid and ~thought~ that solved the issue.
Think it's time to call Marty and order up a solenoid unless anyone has a better idea.

 Battery cable ends and battery post
starter button contacts
relays
solenoid

I know you know your way around....maybe this jogged a thought

I have the same problem on S/N 827. I cleaned the points on  the start button and now it won't make good contact. I need to take it apart and check the switch again...Then.. Guess I'll have to replace the right hand control assy.

Following up on an old topic...
I cleaned my starter button and it seemed to help but the X would not restart after stopping for a few minutes. The issue ultimately turned out to be a bad starter. While it is possible these were two separate incidents, I'm convinced my starter had been dying for a while and my hard start was an indicator my starter was going out.
