Late to reply here. Standard OBD2 readers will read codes, read live data from the computer and can reset codes on our bikes.
If this is about the original Examiminators, that's a different animal. I have only connected one to my original bike with the original tune.
One of the stories traveling around back in the day was that if you plugged in the examinator and it found a non-factory tune, it would try to restore the tune back to whatever the tool has onboard. Since we never got updated factory tunes, that would be a bad thing if you paid for a later Super-X tune.
