Fuel injectors

Just replaced fuel pump and injectors still engine will not run. Is there a bleed valve, any one have any suggestions,

Got spark? What are your symptoms? History of the X?

Welcome Ratman,

The fuel line and rail are short enough that bleeding the system is not necessary.

Have you tested the fuel pressure? The standard is 51 psi charge pressure and 44 psi constant. I find it easiest to measure it at the fuel pump outlet instead of the Schrader Valve.

have not checked the pump pressure yet just replaced pump and assumed it was pumping the correct pressure .  will ck asap.   the engine will run , I can spray carb cleaner into intake and motor will fire off,   thanks for info

Ratman,

I use an inexpensive 0 to 100 psi pressure gauge screwed to a brass T with barbed ends for 1/4" hose. Run a 12" length of hose from the fuel pump outlet to the gauge with hose clamps on both ends and plug the other side of the T into the fuel line going to the injectors. You should have enough hose to allow the gauge to clear the fuel tank.

Ratman, sorry you're having the problems.

First question: does the tach needle move when you crank the engine or does it stay on zero? If it stays at zero, the crank angle sensor is bad. The computer does not throw a code when that sensor fails so it will pass all the self tests and still not start.

If the sensor is bad, it's located down on the front of the engine, just above the frame cross member. If it's bad, the next thing to check is your front motor mounts. If either is torn, the engine can contact that cross member and damage the sensor.

The last check I would do: shoot some starting fluid into the intake through the throttle body and try to start it. If it starts, then you have a fuel problem (injectors, pump, wiring). If not, you have a spark problem (coils, sensors, wiring).
