This is weird. EH Victory HYBRID!
« on: May 29, 2015, 06:59:19 PM »
I found this on Craigslist, and I'm even thinking about buying it. It's just so weird! Not sure why anybody would do it in the first place, but they did.....

It looks like a Deadwood front end. I wonder where that came from. Factory leftovers or pulled from a production bike?

Did you buy it?

   It will be interesting to find out. I'm going to call the owner tomorrow when I have some money to offer.

From the pictures, it looks like the entire rest of the bike is Victory.

The guy finally called me back yesterday, after I had left several messages. Unfortunately, the bike was sold. He told me he bought it that way and had no details about why it was done or where the EH parts came from.

It seems that the Victory with the Deadwood front end has surfaced again.

   Yeah, I spoke to that guy too. I'm not sure if this is the same or another hybrid. He says he painted it, but the original color was black. The first one had a custom purple or blue paint job, so there's no telling if someone else painted it black along the line.
   BTW, this guy wants way too much for this bike! Early Victory motorcycles in good condition are going for $3-$4 K. And that's only if the transmission has been upgraded. If the transmission has not, then you can pick them up all day long for under a grand! I've bought 3 that way myself!

Another one or the same bike we've discussed in the past? This one is in Florida which is a long way from the previous one in Orange County, CA.
The ad text, for the future when it's gone:

This is 1999 Victory V92C Cruiser customized with an Excelsior-Henderson Super X springer front end work, that was done by Victory mechanics when Polaris was considering buying Excelsior-Henderson. This is 1 of only 3 made...isn't she gorgeous!
 Runs and ride like a dream!

 Garage kept, no accidents. Clean/clear title. Saddle Bags, Helmet, 2nd key, tools included!

 Only 11700 miles on it.
 The speakers are custom;

Hmm....Perhaps there were three built. I still don't understand why "Victory Mechanics" would use an EH front suspension. If Polaris had any intention of buying EH, they wouldn't have made half and half bikes. I also noticed that this bike lacks the pinstriping that Victory used: It's also been repainted, so it could still be the same bike. A lot of folks are moving from California to Florida these days.

The other thing that makes me believe it was not a Victory sanctioned conversion, is the fact that the bike or bikes are 1999 model year. Yet the Deadwood Special came out in 2000. So the conversion had to take place after 2000, why would they do it on a 1999 Victory? Wouldn't it be done to a current year bike? Unless they had a lot of 99s laying around not getting sold or something.
