yep..... that would be what mine looks like...
I took off the grab bar, as I have the back rest.....  and yes I had to modify it a touch so the seat would fit.

everyone has their own preferred taste for their own X..... and as such, I think that seat enhances the look of 525. Some may not agree....

With my pointy lil bone butt, I can ride in comfort a lot of miles compared to the OEM seat. Yes the corbin does/has scuffed up my fender, but so did the OEM seat, long before I got the corbin. I envy those that can ride their X with a single saddle..... I love that look. But I'm pretty sure I'm not going to take off the backrest/luggage rack.

side note:.....   don't assume that I'm a skinny ol guy..... I"m not... but I do have a bone butt....

Greg..... toss me your mailing address (you may have once already, I just can't track everything anymore).... and I'll send you a clean nail polish bottle of the oyster for touch up.

For that matter..... I don't know how much I'll be getting from left overs of Chad's Jennie, but If I have more, I'll offer it here....   keeping a little bit for myself and future....

last sidenote: .... Chad bought from Dave Lockhart a set of OEM crash bars, with pegs, and no scuffs for 525....   for doing the updates on his X....   have them mounted and they are lovely....

Just for reference, I took a pic of my seat this past weekend.

Hey, if it makes it more comfortable to ride and keeps you on the bike longer, whatever works, is what you go with. I ran a Russell Day Long seat on my Gold Wing (regarded as one of the ugliest seats ever).

I also know what you mean about a seat enhancing the looks. Looking at pictures in the registry, I think adding the saddlebags would take away from the heavy look portrayed in the Corbin photos. This looks normal to my eye. Maybe it was just seeing a big touring saddle on the back of an otherwise naked bike in the Corbin photos?
