Comments:I purchased it from Nielsen Enterprises Inc. in Lake Villa IL.. I initially put a deposit on it in February 2001 and picked it up in May 2002. The Nielsens were very tolerant with their lay away plan. It still has the three factory miles on the speedo and I will complete the upgrades as recommended in time for the riding season this year. The way I became aware of the red deadwoods is worth telling. I had been following the fortunes of the Hanlons and E-H for years and was hoping that they would succeed. They were living a dream that I had and I was excited for them. WhenI saw the first pictures I was disappointed and it wasn't until the deadwood that I found an E-H bike that I wanted to own. My local dealer didn't have a deadwood when E-H stopped production and I called the factory looking for one. I got a call back from Nielsens and they told me they had a rare red deadwood for sale at full price of 19k plus.I passed on that bike after trying to wait them out for a better price that I could afford. But, the image of that bike stuck in my mind. One year later as the dust began to settle around E-H I decided to find out what deals were out there for deadwoods. I downloaded the dealer list and called all the eastern dealers, I think I called over 50 numbers and found deadwoods still in the box or sale for 12k. These were all black, with one dealer in Pittsburgh claiming to have a red one, but, not for sale. I finally called Nielsens. They had sold the red one they offered me initially, but, had another in the crate. We negotiated and I bought it from them at their cost.
