I few weeks ago, I tried to start the bike. Main switch and engine switch "on", lights came on (as expected) fuel pump primed (as expected) I hit the start button, and all the lights went out instantly and the bike has been dark since. I have a charged battery. The voltage across the battery reads 0V only when I turn the main switch to "on".
To begin my trouble shooting, I pulled all the fuses, the problem is in the 5A ignition line. I pulled the voltage regulator and the instrument cluster out of the circuit to help isolate the fault. Everything is good up to the starter relay.
The interesting thing is that the start switch isn't in the same circuit save through the main control module or "brain". I did replace the right side controls in the past, but haven't had a problem until now. (But I'm not a strong believer in coincidence either.) Please also note, that I permanently removed the horn fuse due to a fault in that circuit that causes my lights to dim/flash whenever I pushed the horn button.
Any advice on how to proceed is much appreciated.
