oil puke
« on: December 08, 2022, 08:39:26 AM »
Hi there, I'm starting a new topic as the subject went too far from the one about "recommended engine oil".

Can someone tell if there is any reason that make oil coming out from the breather hose near the air filter? (other than too much engine oil of course...)

I installed a p/u tube and the engine worked very fine for about 200 miles so I don't think this is part of the problem.

I'm getting really CRAZY about my bike...

Thanks!

If you just filled the oil, I would guess it's just slightly overfilled. It will blow the excess out until the engine is happy. It's difficult to get it right by reading the dipstick.

It's funny to think back to when these bikes came out and everyone was worried about them. We would dutifully check our oil level and keep topping it up. The bike would respond by puking it out of the breather. We would panic some more because we didn't want to run our babies low. We'd immediately pour more in and it would belch it back out. I remember adding more at gas stations and getting home with the whole side of the bike covered in clean oil.

Is the breather hose still connected to the air filter back plate ???   if it is the engine is sucking it out too ... after oil change just put 3 1/2 qts.  in   ... I find at high rpms it pukes more if over fill...and yes Greg is right it will find its level

At the end I find an injector was stucked and yes I'll drain some oil as I probably filled too much.
For those who are lost in a universe of professionals: for less than 20$ I bought a tool (see attachfile) that seems have helped me instead of letting clean the injectors by a specialist.
Stay good!

That is worth $20 if the plug fits. I might look for one of those.

They delivered 2 holders and 2 plugs, one of them fits.
