Been a while since I've asked... What's your favorite ride or trip?

Mine is probably I-90 out to Sturgis. Yes, boring, but still my fav.

I-90 is boring.... Go North a bit... Get on U.S. 14? out of Mn. then go the back road that brings you into Sturgis by the Campsite... A more scenic ride... Of course... If your tired of flatlands... Come East towards the Mountains of Virginia and North Carolina...

If you are coming to Sturgis from the east.  Take US 14 through Pierre.  Where 14 & 34 split stay on 34 it will take you right into Sturgis.  You will see a lot of wide open country and a few old missle silos.  Give me a shout going through Huron I may be able to come up with a cold beverage.

You guys may be right. My brother took route 14 from Chicago all the way to Sturgis a few years back. I hit the road a day behind him and had his tent set up for him by the time he rolled into camp. For the next week I heard about what a great ride he had.

Smokey Mountains is also one of my favorite rides, but I keep hearing about this Blue Ridge thing. What's that all about? ;-)

I have several favorite trips I like to make on a motorcycle. one is cruising the river road along the
Ohio river. Timing my trip to correspond to several events during the summer. I start at Metropolis Illinois accross the river from Paducah KY and head up river with planned stops at Cave-in-Rock, Evansville, and several other interesting little towns along the river, I spend a week or so meandering back and forth across the river stoping at the dams and locks and other interesting places.  I have done the same on the upper Mississippi and Illinois rivers following the river road on the Illinios side leaving St Louis going up to Grafton and then following the Illinois river up to Peoria.
I reacon that being a river boat captain for so many years I got to where I enjoyed the beautiful sceanery along the major rivers of this country. The Ohio River is 981 miles long and much of it has a road running along one bank or the other with hundreds of cool little towns along the way.  GRIZZ

Nice. I've been up the river road from Alton Il, and down from Savanna, but never made the complete trip like you did. Think I need to add that one to my list.
