So I was doing some talking, and my schedule for next year dictates that I will have to go to Sturgis with my dad. Since the hotel rooms are so hard to get, and my dad won't go unless he can stay in a hotel, I am going to start planning and reserving a year early.
I expect to be leaving Omaha the first week of August and I will probably spend 5 days on the road with my dad, and perhaps be able to talk the Nebraska chapter into going.
Is there a group meet-up? Or would anyone like chime in if no plans are in the works? I might even be able to acquire additional rooms ahead of time if Bruce, Jumper, Ed, or some of the other guys want to join up.
I have been to the Black Hills many times, and I have quite a few friends up there, but have never been to the Sturgis Rally. I know the drive there is fantastic anyway you come from 500 miles.
Coming up from Nebraska gives you a ton of options from going straight up to South Dakota, or going through Niobrara, to the Sandhills, to the Badlands, Custer, Hill City, and up.
There really isn't a bad way to go, but hoping steer clear of "bad elements".
Also who's going this year? I expect I will be up that way to collect one of our horses for training, but I need to get some things squared away on the X before I can ride with peace of mind.
