Open house visit in Libertyville IL Indian Dealer
« on: July 12, 2015, 11:00:45 PM »
Traveling for work has a lot of downsides, but I did get to see the best of the new Indians just down the road.  I also got to talk to Alligator Bob, and see some of his work in person.  I'm not a Harley guy, but I think owning a new Indian might almost be as thrilling as my X.  Almost.....    Very, very, very nice motorcycles!

When I was in Hollister on the 4th, I spent more time doing demo rides on Indians and Victorys than anything else. If only Excelsior Henderson had that last needed infusion of money, we'd be demo riding them as well!
And yes, the new Indians are great. Polaris did an outstanding job designing them. The Scout Hauls-ass!

Rode a Scout and a Chief Classic in Sturgis this year, very nice bikes.
The Scout felt smallish, smaller than a sporty but had plenty of power.
The Chief was very smooth an torquey, just like the Victory I rode a couple years back.  Yea, I'd buy one, but only as a spare to ride when I'm working on the X. ;-)

I just bought a 99 Victory so I'll have another bike to ride on the long rides. I'm trying to keep the miles down on my Super X's. I bought 741 back in 2010, and have put 16000 miles on it since then (it had 11k, it now has 27k). I bought 901 in 2012, and have put almost 25000 on it! So in an effort to minimize miles, I'll keep the X's for the more local runs, and use the Vic for cross country runs. When I hit the lottery, I'll just buy a bunch more x's!
