Long Beach International Motorcycle Show this weekend. Beulah spent two days in the parking lot, attracting lots of looks and questions. I wore an Oyster EH button-down on Friday night and the black one on Saturday.

Lots of people remember the brand and plenty have stories of their own. Always a good time.

The weather was terrible: low 80s and a light ocean breeze. Thousands of motorcycles in the parking lot. Only one Excelsior Henderson.

I didn't get a pic of #2016, but I did ride to the annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots parade yesterday.  It was a great day for this time of year in Chi-town and there were lots of bikes.  I put about 100 miles on for the day.

Too bad you didn't get some pictures of your own. 100 miles in metro Chicago? 10-12 hours of riding? You're an animal!

LOL, not quite 12 hours.  We stopped once or twice to wet our whistles.

I found a pic someone else took.  She took one of her Vulcan 900 and I just happened to be parked next to her.

HEY! Look at that! An Excelsior in the wild! It's a beautiful thing!

Yeah, Chicago can be really trying and that's coming from a guy who grew up with Los Angeles traffic. It took us 3.5 hours to get from McCormick Place to the airport on a Friday afternoon. We honestly thought we were going to miss our flight after giving ourselves four hours to go 19 miles. We literally had to drive through residential neighborhoods almost the entire way because the freeways were gridlocked.

 Well, I didn't really ride them (unless you consider riding onto a trailer 'riding'), but I did get my Xs down to the Bakersfield fair grounds for the big toy run tomorrow. There is usually around 6000 attendees to this event, and I'm sure there will be a small crowd around 741 and 901.

Man, I was going to head out there and just troll you with stupid questions and comments. By the end of the day, you surely heard them all. What was the deal with the inside area? Displays for vendors and show bikes or something?

   I belong to a conservative motorcycle group that promotes our Constitution. We set up a booth at the Toy Run every year for exposure, always looking for more patriots who like to ride. I put the Xs on display to draw attention to our little group. We got lucky this year, the coordinator put us right in front of one of the entrances, so the Xs were the first thing people saw as they entered the building.
