I just had the bike gone through, and all updates done. I have probably 2,000 miles on since then (this season) and the bike has shut off on me several times when cruising on the freeway. When I pull the clutch in, the motor just dies. Has anybody else experienced this? I can't replicate it, but it has happened twice. I know of loose battery cables, and I will check that, but I doubt that it is that issue. If anybody has experienced similar symptoms, I would love to hear it.
Thanks!
UPDATE- Today I rode it for about a half of an hour with no problems. I stopped to do some work for about another 30 minutes and got back on it. It then continuously shut off, probably 10 times, for the next 15 minutes. I have experienced this in carbureted cars (vaporlock) when the gas boils from sitting on top of a hot intake manifold. I should note that the bike only dies when I let off the gas. So I assume that it is not a clog in the fuel lines or anything.
I have been told to look at:
- the crankshaft position sensor
- the fuel injection regulator
I will begin to dig into those over the next few days. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
