I was just about to post this again Jake.   Perfect twin sister to my 1973 Jenny.   Would LOVE to be able to snag it

The Jennie bikes sure are pretty.  Probably why I bought mine.   ;)

While looking at the pics for that auction, I noticed that the seat is not the seat issued on the Jennie Bikes.  The Jennie bikes got the single piece seat, like the Deadwoods.  This one has a 2 piece seat like the rest of the Super X line.  I don't know if that matters to you.

Well, looks like I won't be getting that Jenny any time soon. Was on my way into work Monday and a guy pulled out in front of me, my xj1100 is totaled and my right leg is uber screwed up. All things considered though I came out pretty good.

Yikes,  sorry to hear that Jake, and scary thought.  Little forgiveness for careless drivers who run over motorcycle riders.  In other words, sue his pants off.

I'm looking hard at that seat John, and it really looks like the leather strap got twisted, and there's nothing else wrong with it.  I would love to see my error if I'm being naive, but it looks OEM to me.?

+1 on healing quickly and correctly. BTDT. Not fun. Just hope the other guy had insurance. A guy on another forum got mowed by a woman who ran a red light in broad daylight. She was insured but, not nearly enough to cover his damages.

Wow, that sucks.  Heal quickly, Jake.

Chade...Look at the 3rd pic from the right, where the owner got a closer view of the air cleaner assembly.  One can see the stitching on the seat goes all of the way around the rider's section.  This indicates a 2 piece seat.  The stitching on my OEM Jennie seat goes around both seating areas.

Just to be clear...this IS an OEM Super X seat.  It's just not original to that bike.

Wow!  Sharp eye!  So the likelihood is that the seat was replaced?  I'm honestly fascinated that you spotted that.  I wonder if there's a chance it came like that as a slight error?  That is a bit of a mystery.

LOL, thanks.

The overall shape is an indicator as well.  I searched the pics to find one that was definitive.  I don't have a good pic of the seat on my bike to put here.

I've been told that some guys thought the 2-piece seat was more comfortable than the single piece, so a few swaps were made.

Single piece double up seat is jennies and deadwoods.
Another thing to watch for on Xs for sale are the OEM handle bars. I bought 525 with deadwood bars. And if you look, it's not that uncommon.
Single seat is a good look for lone wolf riding and the Motherwell racks...

I would agree with the opinion that the standard model seat has slightly better support than the special edition, one-piece version--at least for the rider. Not sure about the passenger portion. The one-piece is a narrower, more sporty looking seat. It made sense on the Deadwood; not as much on the Touring Limited. Oh well, it is what it is.

You don't see many of those giganto, 90 pound Corbin seats on our bikes. Man, that seat had better be comfortable for being so ugly. Wasn't it also incompatible with the factory backrest and rack?

LOL.....
Greg.... I'm figuring out that you don't like the design of corbins? .....  LOL....

5 of us here in NebraXi run with them....... and I'm sure for different reasons...
But I don't have no butt.... and that Corbin works for me very well on trips over 150 miles...

And I like the look of it a lot myself. And I honestly haven't had any comments negative against....
The EH corbins are getting very rare, I was surprised that your link still worked, as Corbin are very much sticklers about not making them anymore....

I'll try to post a picture of mine, when I figure out how to get it on here... its a black cowhide with chrome rivets and red piping ( very close to the red pin stripe on 525)....
Old Blue (my Nephew Devin Nielsen rides) has an Osterich hide...... very cool....

Lol....   I don't like what a lot of folks have done to their X's, but I always try to remember that its their bike, and its what they want, not me...

sidenote: you still want some touch up..... possibly will be happening within a week? ...

Touch up? Absolutely yes. With two bikes carrying that paint, I'd be insane to not have some.

Corbins? I have a love / hate relationship with the entire brand. I have them on eight of my motorcycles. Some had them when I bought them, some were the only aftermarket seat brand available and the stocker was so bad that something had to be done.

My biggest gripe is on some of them, the designer just didn't seem to care about the fit of the pan, or how it integrated to the bike. Others fit better than the factory seat. It's hit & miss. Some grind mercilessly on the bodywork and tank, leaving marks that the stock seat will never cover again. Installation becomes a one-way street.

It sounds like you have one optioned out like this one? This pan looks like it would be one of the ones that trashed the back of the tank and the rear fender beneath it. Since you have one, is there any truth to that fear? I'd always like the option to put the stock stuff back on. That would include running a stock solo seat and not having the rear fender covered in scratches.
